“Sometimes, I amaze even myself” - Han Solo, Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope

I overcame my fear and procrastination and started Google Slides (that I will eventually convert into a PDF) today! Using a template provided by the article I read, I created a cover page (nothing glamorous) and managed to fill four of the nine categories of the proposal. Mind you, some of the writing is type terrible but as I have often told my students: the first draft is almost always a hot mess. All that matters to me is that I dipped my toe in the water…well, four toes.

I am very cautious regarding the inclusion of sample writing or images. I will, of course, include a copyright statement. I am thinking one paragraph of Jan Stacy’s writing and a couple of Lenny’s photos. I am not sure of which ones to include.

Once I have all sections completed, I will send one off to the publisher that did not have such convoluted submission instructions. And then I will choose the company whose work is top notch and set about the tedious process of augmenting the proposal to suit their requirements. Sheesh.
