Circling Curation

Okay, so I have to admit that I spent way too much time trying to “read up” and “prepare” for my curating experience (that won’t even begin until all of the slides are scanned). I suppose it is good to think ahead…a little. But I felt no forward motion today. I just went in circles, searching for “the perfect article” that would speak to my specific situation I found no such article. Even as I continued in circles, my mind was thinking of it as a puzzle to be solved. I just needed to piece things together. Just as when I overdo it working on a jigsaw, I felt that my eyes were getting kinda crossed, I wondered whether “curating” even really describes what it is I will be doing. Lenny did a lot of the work already.

I spent a bit of time scanning more slides and played a few cassette singles: “Superwoman - Karyn White”, “Play My Funk”, Simple E, “Tom’s Diner” - Suzanne Vega, “The Whistle Song" - Frankie Knuckles.
