On To The Last One (of the cases of slides…)

So today, I jammed to the Dizzy Gillespie Quintet (Jazz 625) 1966. Apparently, over a million people decided to do the same at one point or another! And I understand why. Jazz is like that one gift under the tree that you know contains something so wondrous that you hesitate to open it, ironically enough. That is how I have approached jazz, very timidly and hesitantly. Which I now feel is ridiculous. I am going to dig around for a few records that I know I have in storage that are jazz & blues.

Scanned 90 slides.

Still haven’t worked up the nerve to use Twitter to reach out to Mr. Claiborne.

Only one more plastic case of slides to go…and then there are a few more small cardboard cases of slides but my mom thinks that they are more portraits. Will have to check but will wait until I complete my scans of what I have here in the attic.

I wonder what it is going to be like to start curating. I have never done so before and have a kind of romantic idea of it. Dare I say that I feel it might be fun?
