Dusting Off Again

Press Play: “Celebration” - Kool & the Gang

So I’m back on it. Today, I was armed with 3 Dust Off cans. The sun was shining through the horizontal blinds and my allergies remained at bay so I actually opened the window. The record player connected me to INSERT. And the kids remained seriously engaged in minecraft research and testing. It was a productive day. And it felt really good to get back to the project.

The empty dust can was a convenient excuse for me to avoid the project. And I will admit that I devoted some time this past week to my own personal pursuits. I think Lenny would understand. I succeeded in drafting, editing, submitting for review, and the editing again (per feedback) an article that I hope will be posted in a publication on Medium. It is my first attempt at this. And I think it is something that will not only benefit me psychologically as a writer but may provide a nudge of encouragement to me as I press on with this project, figuring things out as I go along.

May is here. I committed to “completing” this work by the end of 2021. I lost some traction but I am going to recommit myself to working a little bit (or more) every day heading into the summer.

So it may not seem like much but I finished cleaning up all of the selected slides for the remaining chapters and they are labeled in the appropriate folders. I also resumed typing up an additional chapter. Jan Stacy was a very good writer and he wrote long sentences, just like I do! All in all, I felt very (re)connected today.
