To Be Hyper-Organized is to Procrastinate

Instead of starting with the book proposal, I convinced myself that I was excited about the arrival of a Clear-File Archival-Plus Slide Page, 35 mm - 100 Pack. I had convinced myself the other day that it would be best to locate all of the selected original slides and place them in the binder, according to Chapter. Now, there is a logic to this. When (you have just witnessed the power of positive thinking at work) a publisher agrees to take on the project, they will most likely need the original slides, as they will complete a high quality scan of them, removing dust and other imperfections. But need I do this now? Of course not. Is it busy work that provides some sense of (false) pleasure? Absolutely.
To my credit, I stopped myself from beginning the task that would have been so easy to begin. The music would play, I’d place the plastic case on my lap, and so on. I held off. As scared as I am of starting the photo book proposal, I have decided that I will do something to get started this weekend. Once I have made some headway, the “reward” will be the slide filing. I need to push myself to do the scary thing. As long as I can remember not to pursue perfection, I’ll be good.
To get me pumped, I played Uptown Anthem as my Outro for the night. Nothing else is like that track. Gotta headnod.
